THE NATIONAL PROGRAM GEOLOGY DEVELOPMENT 2013 - 2019. MAIN RESULTS FOR THE GOLD

Abstract
In the results analysis of the obtained in the first 5 years of geological investigations carried out in the National Geology Development Program, the main results achieved are evaluated deepening in the greater relevance aspects that influence the efficiency of geological investments and specifically, in those related to gold. Results of the Geological Activity visits Control Group are used to the objectives, their minutes, economic information, as well as the reports, technical tasks, and other related documents. Based on critical literature review and the obtained results, the methodologies used in geological investigations are evaluated and future actions are evaluated. Reference is made to the objectives completed or under investigation for primary and oxidized ores, as well as the approved Geological Tasks. The results obtained, although modest, indicate an increase in geological knowledge and permit us to draw new directions different from those proposed in the National Gold Program. It is concluded that gossans are immediate objectives with greater possibilities to develop with state financing, but they require the strategies revision in geological investigations from their projection point of view. Until the inadequacies of the analytical base, the accreditation of the laboratories and the lack of trained personnel in projects charge are solved the definition of the projects feasibility will continue to be much compromised. Estimating the efficiency of investments in geological investigations will consent decision makers to assess strengths and weaknesses. The results show that geological research cycle is extensive and expensive.
