WATER HARVESTING, A VIABLE SOLUTION TO CLIMATE CHANGE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Water harvesting is an ancestral practice that is gaining more and more relevance today, since due to global warming and hydroclimatic variability, according to specialized forecasts, rainy patterns will be increasingly variable, which is why it is of great importance. Efficiently take advantage of the water resource through techniques and works that allow its capture and storage. The implementation of Rainwater Capture Systems (SCALL) therefore represents an important strategy as a response to the effects of climate change. For this reason, in the international context and in Cuba, a series of actions and investments are established to promote thedevelopment of these systems. The main characteristics of the SCALL, as well as their current situation in various parts of the world and in our country, are addressed in this work from the consultation of recent bibliographic sources. It therefore constitutes an updated compilation on the subject in question.
