Geoinformativa is a scientific journal in Open Access (Open Journal System) with ISSN: 2222-6621 and RPNS: 2277 published by the  Instituto de Geología y Paleontología/Servicio Geológico de Cuba. It is aimed at professionals in the branches of Geosciences and its objective is to disseminate the results of scientific researches, both national and international, in geological, geophysical, paleontological, mineralogical, cartographic, stratigraphic, environmental and other disciplines of the Earth Sciences.

It has a continuous publication system with an annual volume (January-December). It publishes original an unpublished papers in Spanish and English that have not been submitted to any other publication body, in the form of scientific articles, short communications, case studies and geological news, all related to prospecting and research results of scientific projects. Papers submitted for publication undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Authors who publish in this journal agree to the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). It provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that providing the public with free access to research contributes to a greater global exchange of knowledge and thus meets the Open Access definition of the Budapest Open Access Initiative.

The journal does not impose article processing fees, submission fees, or any other required charges on authors. Its mission is to support greater global knowledge sharing by allowing the research published in it to be open to public and reusable under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 License.
