The analysis of the information is carried out as a first approach to the most relevant aspects taking into account the international circumstances in the context of its development. This work is based on archival materials related to geological and mining studies carried out by different authors and entities, mainly those with a higher level of research, which are shown as standard deposits. With special interest are highlighted the achievements and difficulties obtained by the so-c alled basic stages suc h as: The mining preserves, The Economic Mutual Aid Council, Foreign investment, The Cuba-Venezuela Collaboration Agreement, The gold development program- National Program for the Development of Geological Activity, the latter of great importance since it assumes, with the state budget, gold prospectingas a challenge for the economic development of the country and for the role achieved in this endeavor by the National Geological Service, the universities, research institutes and the territorial companies of the Geominsal Group. In the different Economic-Social Formations and their basic stages, geologic al research was developed, differentiated in geological knowledge, these currently face challenges common to the whole world as the need for foreign investment and the prospects for discovering new sources of gold. Los antecedentes sobre las investigaciones geológicas para oro en cada Formación Económico- Social brindan una visión de su desarrollo y evolución en el tiempo. Se realizael análisis de la información como un primer acercamiento a aspectos más relevantes teniendo en cuenta las circunstancias internacionales en el contexto de su desarrollo. Este trabajo está basado en los materiales de archivo relacionados con estudios geológicos y mineros realizados por diferentes autores y entidades, fundamentalmente aquellos que poseían un mayor nivel de investigación, los cuales se muestran como depósitos patrones. Con especial interés se destacan los logros y dificultades obtenidospor las denominadas etapas básicas como: Los cotos mineros, El Consejo deAyuda Mutua Económica, La inversión extranjera, El Convenio de Colaboración Cuba- Venezuela, El programa de desarrollo del oro-Programa Nacional de Desarrollo de la Actividad Geológica, este última de gran importancia ya que asume, con el presupuesto estatal, la prospección del oro como un reto parael desarrollo económico del país y por el papel logrado en este empeño por el Servicio Geológico Nacional, las universidades, institutos de investigación y las empresas territoriales del Grupo Geominsal. En las diferentes Formaciones Económico-Sociales y sus etapas básicas, se desarrollaron investigaciones geológicas, diferenciadas en el conocimiento geológico, estas en la actualidad enfrentan retos comunes a todo el mundo como la necesidad de la inversión extranjera y las perspectivas para descubrir nuevas fuentes de oro.
