CURRENT STATE OF INVESTIGATIONS IN THE GOSSANS WITH GOLD AND SILVER FROM CUBAN ARCHIPELAGO ESTADO ACTUAL DE LAS INVESTIGACIONES EN LOS GOSSANS CON ORO Y PLATA DEL ARCHIPIÉLAGO CUBANO López Kramer, Jesús Manuel Gossan oro plata Golden Hill Barita Cuba Gossans gold silver Golden Hill Barite Cuba The supergenic processes gave rise to an important group of deposits, among them, gossans with gold and silver, that formed from minerals base metals, polymetallic and primary gold. The results of the visits of Geological Activity Control Group to the objectives, their minutes, economic information, as well as the reports, technical tasks and other related documents are used. These were based on critical bibliographic review and results obtained, the methodologies used in evaluated geological investigations and future actions valued too. More than 70 gossans are known with gold and silver, there are no studies that integrate the information and there is a tendency to affirm that all are equal, evidence that it isn’t reflected in plants recovery. The gossans constitute 25-30% of gold resources volume from deposits. In the last decades, they are the main source for gold and silver for the 2 oxidized ore processing plants at the Golden Hill deposits in Las Tunas and Barite, in Santiago de Cuba. The geological and technological investigations of gossans in Cuba are divided into 4 stages: The International Economic Associations (A.E.I) 1995-1999; The investigations by the territorial companies 2000-2008; the Bolivarian Alternative for Latin America and Caribbean with Peoples; the ALBA TCP 2008-2012 and the stage of Geology National Development Program 2013-2020. It is concluded that the gossans are the immediate objectives with greater possibilities to develop with the state financing; nevertheless, the revision of the strategies in geological investigations is imposed from the point of view of their projection. Los procesos supergénicos dieron origen a un importante grupo de yacimientos, entre ellos, a los gossan con oro y plata que se formaron a partir de menas de metales base, polimetálicos y primarios de oro. Se utilizan los resultados de las visitas del Grupo de Control de la Actividad Geológica a los objetivos, sus actas, información económica, así como los informes, tareas técnicas y otros documentos relacionados. Partiendo de la revisión bibliográfica crítica y de los resultados obtenidos, se evalúan las metodologías usadas en las investigaciones geológicas y se valoran acciones futuras. Se conocen más de 70 gossan con oro y plata, no existiendo estudios que integren la información y existe la tendencia a afirmar que todos son iguales, evidencia que no se refleja en la recuperación de las plantas. Los gossans constituyen el 25–30 % del volumen de los recursos auríferos de los depósitos. En las últimas décadas, constituyen la principal fuente para oro y plata para las 2 plantas de procesamiento de menas oxidadas en los yacimientos Golden Hill en Las Tunas y Barita, en Santiago de Cuba. Las investigaciones geológicas y tecnológicas de los gossan en Cuba se dividen en 4 etapas: Las Asociaciones Económicas Internacionales (A.E.I) 1995–1999; las investigaciones por las empresas territoriales 2000–2008; la Alternativa Bolivariana para América Latina y el Caribe con los Pueblos; el ALBA TCP 2008–2012 y la etapa del Programa Nacional de Desarrollo de la Geología 2013–2020. Se concluye que los gossans constituyen los objetivos inmediatos con mayores posibilidades a desarrollar con el financiamiento estatal, no obstante, se impone la revisión de las estrategias en las investigaciones geológicas desde el punto de vista de su proyección.
