Perera Falcón, Carlos Foraminíferos bentónicos grandes macroforaminíferos Cretácico Cuba Larger benthic foraminifera Macroforaminifera Cretaceous Cuba The large benthic foraminifera (macroforaminifera) of Cuba have been closely studied by many specialists, but there is no publication that brings together all the genera and species identified to date. This work represents the introduction to a Catalog of Macroforaminifera developed to serve as an identification tool in micropaleontological studies. For its realization, the authors had available the existing bibliographic information and valuable unpublished documentation, as a result of micropaleontological determinations of the specialists working in the oil companies operating in Cuba. As a result, the systematics of the large benthic foraminifera species was updated according to the current classification patterns; genera and generic associations useful for the interpretation of several paleoenvironmental distribution zones were identified; and the characteristics of 20 genera were analyzed, with 54 species in total registered for Cuba, which were included in this Catalog. The specific files contained in the Catalog of Larger Benthic Foraminifera (Macroforaminifera) of the Cretaceous of Cuba represent the unification of the information available to the micropaleontologists of the Petroleum Research Center (CEINPET) about this group and contribute to the better development of biostratigraphic studies of larger foraminifera for the Cretaceous of Cuba. Los foraminíferos bentónicos grandes (macroforaminíferos) de Cuba han sido estudiados estrechamente por muchos especialistas, pero no existe ninguna publicación que reúna todos los géneros y especies identificados hasta la fecha. Este trabajo representa la introducción a un Catálogo de macroforaminíferos elaborado para servir como herramienta de identificación en estudios micropaleontológicos. Para su realización, los autores contaron con la información bibliográfica existente y documentación inédita considerablemente valiosa, como resultado de determinaciones micropaleontológicas de los especialistas que trabajan en las compañías petroleras que operan en Cuba. Como resultado, la sistemática de las especies de foraminíferos bentónicos grandes fue actualizada según los patrones actuales de clasificación; se identificaron géneros y asociaciones genéricas útiles para la interpretación de varias zonas de distribución paleoambiental; y se analizaron las características de 20 géneros, con 54 especies en total reportadas para Cuba, que fueron incluidas en este Catálogo. Las fichas específicas presentes en el Catálogo de Foraminíferos Bentónicos Grandes (Macroforaminíferos) del Cretácico de Cuba representan la unificación de la información con que cuentan los micropaleontólogos del Centro de Investigaciones del Petróleo sobre el grupo y contribuyen al mejor desarrollo del estudio bioestratigráfico de los foraminíferos grandes del Cretácico de Cuba.
