Characterization and cartographic representation at 1/25 000 scale of the upper endorheic part of the almendares-vento endorheic part of the almendares-vento basin Caracterización geomorfológica y representación cartográfica a escala 1:25 000 de la parte alta endorreica de la cuenca almendares-vento Alonso-Montero, Raydel endorheic sub-basin karst relief forms types of relief formas del relieve karst sub-cuenca endorreica tipos de relieve The upper endorheic part of the Almendares-Vento basin is one of the most important hydrological and karst regions in Cuba, since it contains most of the main subway recharge routes to the Vento aquifer, the main source of drinking water supply to the Cuban capital.  As part of the research projects that the Institute of Geology and Paleontology carries out in the different sub-basins of the Almendares river basin, the study of this upper endorheic sub-basin was carried out, introducing for the first time the geomorphological study and its cartographic representation for this sector at a detailed scale 1/25 000, which reviews from the chronomorphogenetic point of view the complex of types and forms of the relief of the territory, taking as a basis the survey of the old Havana provinces realized of Portela. Thus, it offers the classification of the surfaces by relief category, altitudinal floor, endogenous genesis of the orographic units; as well as the analysis of the active morphostructures of the original relief and the modified lithostructures, their forms of expression, the exogenous processes that gave rise to the present relief and the ages of the surfaces. This work is therefore a useful tool in the geoenvironmental study of the Almendares-Vento basin and specifically of its upper part, and it is expected to serve as a first step to extend this type of survey to the entire general hydrological unit, with a view to carrying out deeper and more advanced geomorphological and hydrological studies of the karst. La parte alta endorreica de la cuenca Almendares-Vento es una de las regiones hidrológicas y del karst más importante de Cuba al encontrarse en ella gran parte de las principales vías de recarga subterránea al acuífero Vento, principal fuente de abasto de agua potable a la capital cubana. Como parte de los proyectos de investigación que el Instituto de Geología y Paleontología ejecuta en las distintas sub-cuencas de la cuenca del río Almendares, se realizó el estudio de esta sub-cuenca superior endorreica introduciéndose por vez primera el estudio geomorfológico y su representación cartográfica para este sector a escala detallada  1/25 000, el cual revisa desde el punto de vista cronomorfogenético el complejo de tipos y formas del relieve del territorio, tomando como base el levantamiento de las antiguas provincias habaneras realizado por Portela. Se muestra la clasificación de las superficies por la categoría de relieve, piso altitudinal ygénesis endógena de las unidades orográficas; así como el análisis de las morfoestructuras activas del relieve original y las litoestructuras modificadas, sus formas de expresión, los procesos exógenos que dieron lugar al relieve actual y las edades de las superficies. Esta obra es, por tanto, una herramienta útil en el estudio geoambiental de la cuenca Almendares-Vento y específicamente, de su parte alta y se espera, sirva como primer paso para extender este tipo de levantamiento a toda la unidad hidrológica general, con vistas a la realización de estudios geomorfológicos e hidrológicos del karst más profundos y avanzados.
